How much should a Secret Santa gift cost?

Most workplace and friend-group exchanges settle between £10 and £20. The number matters less than everyone knowing it in advance — an agreed limit is what stops one person spending £50 and making everyone else feel awkward.

What is a good Secret Santa gift for someone you barely know?

Something consumable and good quality: a hand cream, a nice candle, a lip product, chocolate people would not buy themselves. It avoids guessing a size, a colour or a taste, and nothing has to live on their shelf forever.

Can the organiser join in the Secret Santa?

In Gifthax, yes. The draw happens when the exchange is created and the result is hidden from everyone, the organiser included — so whoever sets it up can take part on the same terms as everybody else.

How do I stop two people buying the same present?

Share a wishlist. When someone reserves an item on a Gifthax wishlist it shows as taken to everyone else, but never to the person whose list it is — so duplicates are prevented and the surprise survives.

Secret Santa gifts under £20

A £20 limit is the hardest part of Secret Santa. It is high enough that a novelty mug feels like giving up, and low enough that most "gift guides" quietly ignore it and show you a £60 candle.

Everything below is real, in stock, and under £20 in the UK — mostly beauty and accessories, because that is what people put on their own wishlists most often. Prices come straight from the shops and are checked when this page is built.

If you are the one organising: the awkward part is never the budget, it is not knowing what anyone wants. Gifthax draws the names for you and gives everyone a place to say what they would actually like — without spoiling who is buying for whom.
